Beyond Baby Carriers
Okay, there's a lot of cool stuff out there for hip moms and dads. Here's my list of "must-have" products.

Long Wraps (also called didymos slings):

long wrap knit fabric

Components: A long piece of woven or knit fabric that is at least 25 inches
wide and 5 to 6 feet long.

tying a stretchy wrap

Use: Long wraps are like the Mt. Everest of babywearing. If you can take
a five yard piece of fabric and artistically wrap you and your child in a secure, mummy-like embrace, you are officially a babywearing expert!

With practice, you can achieve ANY babywearing position for the price of a
few yards of fabric. If you don’t know what you are doing, it can be extremely
frustrating and even unsafe. So study up, and you too could make it into the
Babywearing Hall of Fame!

(But don’t fret, little buckaroo. You don’t have to start here. There are
plenty of other less-intimidating carriers for you to enjoy that don’t
require the same level of finesse – or patience!)

Variations: Sometimes referred to as a didymos sling (based on a brand name),
or a SPOC (simple piece of cloth), long wraps are available in many different sizes.
Please note that there are different instructions for using long wraps made of
woven fabric versus wraps made of knit fabric.
